Whelp, I have officially jumped on the “#Coachella” bandwagon. And all the rumors are true - you really do eat, sleep, breathe, dream Coachella. Naturally I was stressing more about my outfits than studying the 2014 lineup. Since Weekend 1 is now a wrap, the countdown for weekend 2 can finally begin! Unfortunately, the festival only consists of 3 days and as you can see ^^ I have a few too many outfits to choose from. You think I’m excited? - Absofuckinlutely! So be sure to share you favorites so I can get help narrowing down my weekend wardrobe.
Option 1: Sassy Sun Shaded
This being my first year at the famous festival, I have all kinds of wild assumptions running through my head… Why am I feel like I will just be rolling around in the dirt all weekend? With that thought in mind - do the ladies actually wear dresses? Well let me rephrase this: Will I actually be comfortable in a dress? Luckily this outfit truly is extremely comfy! The dress is a beach cover-up from Target that has been hiding in my closet for yeeears, but I’m a little concerned the desert wind might blow my skirt up (no bueno). The fringe booties also happen to be from Target. So comfy, go with everything, and [hello] are fringe so aka - a Coachella must! Of course I’m obsessed with the big brim hat for multiple reasons. Although they are so friggin’ cute and will protect me from the sun, do I really want to carry it around all day? I dunno, you tell me. You know what they say, “Beauty is pain” so I’m willing to make the sacrifice.
Option 2: Crochet TaTas
[Half] True story - I almost bought my ticket solely on the excitement of having an excuse to wear this top. It’s a few years old from Foreign Exchange and would look amazeballs on someone who actually has the boobies to show off, but I refuse to let that discourage me from wearing it, especially for such a fitting event! I will admit, I have another crochet crop top (okay, more like “bralette”) coming in the mail tomorrow. You will never guess where it’s from and/or who the designer is - Kmart by Adam Levine (?$%&! say whaaat? - yeah that’s what I thought too) but all I cared about was the look and price….and expedite shipping! ;) So please be sure to let me know which you prefer. The shorts are your classic high-waisted, hip hugging, cheeky shorts from the year round boho/festival shop - Brandy Melville.
Option 3: Infinite Love
Another Brandy outfit. In hopes of channeling my inner hippy, this black crop top with the “infinite love” symbol seems befitting for Coachella. So I paired it with my white cut-off shorts. Once again, going back to my wild hypotheses - am I going to be rolling around in the dirt all weekend? Because if so, these bottoms won’t look so cute with brown spots on them. But for the sake of the beauty gods, let’s just hope my expectations are false so I can still rock these kickass shorts! (Side note - should I be prepping my rhyming skills for Outkast?!)
Option 4: Fringed Kimono
Not to sway anyone’s opinions, but I think this one is my fav! I love layering and this is the perfect outfit to [hopefully] satisfy the changing weather throughout the day. Pairing Forever21 & Target Style, the high-waisted distressed shorts are stretch denim (aka super comfy for all day wear) and the green ruffle bathing suit bandeau I believe is flattering for my body type to give that nice illusion to my chest area. ;) I figure the fringed floral kimono will be light enough to wear in the desert heat but nice to cover my shoulders when the sun starts to sets and it gets a little windy. While the sun is up though, I’m super excited to wear my new reflected sunglasses!
Option 5: Boho Beach Babe
I tend to gravitate toward dark, neutral colors so I need at least one outfit that had a bright pop of color! The hot pink bikini top and crochet tank are from Forever21 (such great prices too). The high-waisted, ripped, studded, acid-washed shorts (yikes, that’s a lot of descriptions for 1 pair of shorts….bad thing? ehhh I think not) are Calvin Klein that I found from an esty shop. They are soooo cute on but a eensy bit snug so I’m hoping I don’t rip them to shreds while I run around the festival grounds…hmm. Either way, they are too awesome not to pack, just in case. ;)
So there you have it! In the wise words of my girlfriend who I’m “Coachellaing” with and has been for the last 4 years, “there is only so much time to wear everything.” With that in mind…there are just not enough days to wear it all, so I have to choose! Your styling input and any other tips would be greatly appreciated!!
Hey There Fab Followers!
It’s April, my friends. Weren’t the holidays just last week? Oyyevey this year is flying by… But luckily it finally got chilly enough here in SF to wear the “winter” coats I purchased months ago.
I stumbled across this website from a fellow blogger, maybe you’ve heard of her? - Marissa from “StyleCusp" ;) She happened to share this awesome website called ROMWE, a global online retailer specializing in high-street fashion. Best part about their chic clothes - nearly everyyything is marked down! Plus when you sign up to create an account, they give you an additional 15% off your first purchase. So fabulous, right? There was no question about it, I had to buy one of their stylish coats.
I instantly fell in love with this Faux Leather Panel Zippered Burgundy Coat. The bright red trench length is a street style show-stopper. The bold color brings out my confidence and I’m even more obsessed with the leather sleeves (obvi). The coat originally started at $80 then was marked down 58% + my 15% first time shopper discount…yeah. Basically ended up being a $30 coat, but you can do the math just to double check ;)
I love trendy coats like this because it doesn’t even matter what you’re wearing underneath. Just throw on some jeans and a white tee and let the coat make the statement!
Hello Lovely Followers!
Great news…It’s raining in San Francisco!
Apparently while the rest of the world is freezing their tooshies off, we have been dealing with gorgeous 65-75 degree sunny weather - it’s just horrible! ;)
Well since the rain is finally rolling in this week, I thought I would rock my H&M bow beanie. Well and I got my hair recolored this weekend (can you tell?!) and you’re not supposed to wash it for a couple days. So I might have just been looking for an excuse to work with the “bad hair” day, but the rain definitely helped!
Hope you’re all having a nice Tuesday, whether it be rainy, snowy, or sunny… I’d love to see what cute hat styles you’re rockin’!
Nothing like a new pair of booties to brighten up your morning, am I right?
So I know I’ve been a little out of touch lately (so sorry!) I got extremely sick last week and have been so busy recovering and playing “catch-up.” Okay fine, and maybe doing a little online shopping from bed. So you can understand my excitement when these edgey booties from Lulu’s.com arrived! If you haven’t shopped on their site [FASHION ALEART] it’s awesome! Cute shoes (obvi ^ ^), clothes, accessories…all at a very affordable price.
I’ve had my eye on these booties since I saw a girl in H&M wearing them waaay back around the holidays. Even though they are only $38, I waited until last week to finally put in the order. Quick shipping, comfortable fit, and absolutely love the big buckles and cut out sides to peep a little skin.
So lesson today? Don’t let the crazy world get in your way - throw on those fabulous pick-me-up shoes and go kick some ass!
Ps. If you’re having trouble finding the booties on LuLu’s website, I’ve also posted some links below where you can still purchase them in black:
